Alpha Omicron Pi
Pi Delta Chapter at the University of Maryland
Women enriched through lifelong friendship.

While the mission statement of AOII holds true throught all of its chapters, the Pi Delta chapter cherishes our bonds of sisterhood above all else.
New members are immediately submersed into a "Homicron" filled with love and support for all its members. Throughout the semesters, various events fill our schedules such as tie dying, Zumba and yoga classes in the chapter room, and movie nights. At weekly meetings, we take time for "Senior Spotlight" and "Standout Sisters of the Week." We have a birthday board, an AOPride board, and an Abroad board that decorate our house- the heart of our chapter.
Aside from AOPi- designed sisterhood events, sisters enjoy just spending daily time together whether it is walking to Bagel Place or Chipotle, going for a run around the College Park lake, driving one another to class in the rain, or shopping in D.C. The Pi Delta sisters of Alpha Omicron Pi cherish one another above all else. The laughter, tears, jokes, and sorrow that we share forge friendships that last forever and allow us to thrive as a chapter.

OUR SISTERS

Sisterhood events occur on a weekly basis and feature things like Zumba and yoga classes in the chapter room, tie-dying, discounted hair cuts, in-house shopping parties, and good old-fashioned movie nights. The house is decorated with things like the AOPride board, AOII Abroad board, Birthday board, and photographs of Sisters of the Week. For more information about our sisterhood events, contact Kathleen Murphy.
Saying 'goodbye' to over 30 of our seniors last semester was entirely too bittersweet! Although we miss seeing them every day, we are excited and proud of them as they continue to succeed in their new work places, graduate schools, and volunteer positions. One of the most significant and prideful moments in Pi Delta history happened at AOII Convention this past July. Our chapter president for 2012, Kate Rodehau, was awarded the prestigious Stella Perry Award- the highest honor a collegiate chapter president and member can receive! She is truely deserving as she is one of the most incredible sisters we have ever had. There was not a dry eye in the house! Read more about our experience at Convention also on our blog.
